Large Tax Increase, What if I can't pay?


Second installment property tax bills are due Thursday August 1st. Property owners with large property tax increases after the recent reassessment may not be prepared to pay the fuill amount when due. The county charges 9% annual interest on delinquent property tax balances, or 0.75% per month.

Our advice to local taxpayers, pay as much as you can by the due date to reduce the added interest charges. If you pay the balance down before the annual tax sale for the 2023 tax year, you will avoid losing your home to back taxes.
