Today we honor the sacrifice and service of American Veterans. We are thankful for those who have served and those who continue to serve. We especially remember our local township veterans who we have been lucky enough to meet and assist with securing disabled veterans property tax relief.
The Lyons Township Assessors Office would like to offer a gentle reminder to our local disabled veterans; be sure to request your 2024 verification letter from the US Dept of Veterans Affairs certifying your current disability rating by December 31st. The Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption application filing period will begin after the first of the year.
